A truck driver with links to Al Qaeda helped plot to derail trains and sabotage the Brooklyn Bridge, according to court documents unsealed Thursday.
According to news reports, Iyman Faris of Columbus, OH, pleaded guilty to two felony charges, according to the documents.
Faris allegedly received instructions directly from senior Al Qaeda leaders, including Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, to obtain equipment that would enable him to sever the cables on "a bridge in New York City," believed to have been the Brooklyn Bridge.
