Dana expands differential applications

Jul 9, 2003 12:00 PM

Dana Corp.'s Commercial Vehicle Systems Division has expanded the approved applications for its traction-control, limited-slip differential for medium-duty trucks.

The differential is now available for vehicles equipped with the Dana Spicer 060 series of single-drive axles. Previously available only for vehicles with the Dana Spicer 135 and 150 families of single-drive axles, the differential increases vehicle performance by providing additional tire traction over slippery and uneven surfaces, said Dana.

According to Dana, the design enables the differential to perform like an open differential under normal driving conditions, while automatically transferring torque to the wheel requiring the highest amount of traction.
