Dana Offers New Axle Ratio

Jul 20, 2004 12:00 PM

Dana Corp.’s Commercial Vehicle Systems has announced a new 2.53 ratio for its Dana Spicer S190 series of single drive axles. This option is designed to maximize fuel efficiency with modern engines that operate best at lower RPMs, the manufacturer said.

“Fleets continue to demand the best integration of drivetrain components to increase fuel economy and optimize performance,” said Patxi Garcia, commercial vehicle systems product manager— drive axles. “Our new axles, when specified with Eaton Corporations’s lineup of direct drive Fuller transmissions, help fleets accomplish that by enabling trucks to maintain highway speeds at low engine RPMs.”
