Delco Remy International, Inc. has announced it will change its corporate name to Remy International, Inc., effective August 1, 2004. The company will continue to market a variety of starters and heavy-duty alternators under the Delco Remy name, while the company will add the Remy trademark to its brand portfolio for a number of automotive products.

Under a separate agreement, the company continues to distribute its aftermarket light-duty starters to GM Service and Parts Operations under the AC Delco brand in the U.S. and Canada.

Corporate headquarters will remain in Anderson, IN. Although there will be some administrative changes, operations, production and deliveries will be unaffected, the company said.

The company said the name change marks its 10th anniversary as a separate company from General Motors Corp.
