Demand for Michelin retreads grows dealer ranks Nov 21, 2002 12:00 PM Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. (MRT) said that its market share is up 16.1% through the third quarter versus the same period last year. With this growth in mind, MRT has implemented a new distribution program that will significantly increase its number of points of sale. The Michelin Retread Associate Dealer program will allow the entire Michelin new tire dealer network to sell and service the full line of Michelin commercial truck products. The company said this will result in a potential MRT retread sales network of more than 1,500 Michelin new tire-servicing locations. The program provides current Michelin new tire dealers with the ability to sell Michelin Retreads to their customers. Associate dealers will have the opportunity to become part of the Michelin Retread Dealer Network and serve as additional sales and service locations for Michelin Retreads.
"The program is a great way to offer the complete line of Michelin commercial products that fleets are demanding," said Michelin Americas Truck Tires vp of marketing Randy Clark.
