EFS Transportation, a subsidiary of fuel card provider First Data, has teamed up with Western Union to provide fleets and owner-operators with a payment solution that provides fuel, cash and payroll services through the convenience of a card that ‘debits’ from an account.

EFS offers the following services through the card:

• Universal fuel and payroll options allows a driver to access payroll funs through ATMs, cash advances, PIN-based debit or deposits into a bank account.

• Owner-operator fuel card allocates funds electronically to independent contractors. Funds on the card can be used to purchase food, meals or make PIN-based debit purchases. Owner-operators can access funds through ATM machines or pay bills through the Transcheck paper check product.

• An online fuel management services compares actual fueling data with potentially lower prices at a similar location to help manage fuel expenses.

“The combined strengths of First Data and EFS will provide more convenience in managing driver payroll and fuel purchases on a single card,” said Ryan Ramey, EFS senior vp.
