Penske buys Southern NationaLease

Penske Truck Leasing of Reading, PA, has acquired the assets of Southern NationaLease, Inc., a truck rental and leasing company based in Birmingham, AL, with additional operations in Montgomery, Huntsville, Bessemer and Pell City, AL.

Penske said Southern NationaLease served more than 35 customers in 5 locations in northern Alabama and that the acquisition added over 200 tractors, straight trucks and trailers to Penske’s fleet.

Penske Truck Leasing is a joint venture of Penske Corp. and GE Capital that operates some 206,000 heavy-, medium-, and light-duty trucks from more than 1,000 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and Europe. Penske Truck Leasing reported annual revenues of over $3.4 billion.
