Praxair, BP ink fuel-supply deal By Sean Kilcarr May 13, 2002 12:00 PM Praxair, a supplier of industrial gases, and British Petroleum (BP) plan to develop a long term deal in which Praxair would supply hydrogen to BP's Texas City, TX chemicals and refinery operations for the production of low-sulfur diesel and other fuels. BP said it would use the hydrogen as a feedstock in the production of very low-sulfur gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel. BP added that it plans to supply a full slate of low sulfur fuels for on-road transportation from its Texas City Refinery over the next few years.
Danbury, CT-based Praxair plans to add approximately 300-million cu. ft.per day of hydrogen capacity to its 300-mile Gulf Coast pipeline system to meet the demand of BP and other refiners that aim to produce low-sulfur transportation fuels.
