The White House has released a letter recognizing the role truck
drivers play in national security and the economy in commemoration of
National Driver Appreciation Week.
“My Administration is working to link truck drivers and other
transportation professionals with first responders, law enforcement
personnel, and the intelligence community so that safety and security
situations on our nation’s roads can be identified and reported
more quickly,” stated President George W. Bush in the letter.
“I applaud America’s truck drivers for your strong work
ethic and professionalism. Your efforts increase efficiency within the
industry and help make America stronger,” he added.
