Qualcomm adds web load tracking

Jul 1, 2001 12:00 PM

ViaWeb 3.0 lets fleets using wireless communications services from Qualcomm offer customers real-time shipment information over the Internet. Users can track and report current load status and position, proof of deliveries, and exception data for loads moving through Canada, Mexico and the U.S. Features for ViaWeb 3.0 include home pages customized with a carrier's logo and a data download option to supplement EDI transactions. It can handle multiple loads per manifest and can be set up to allow drivers to assign their own loads. Both English and Spanish versions are available.

ViaWeb supports real-time reporting from Qualcomm's satellite-based OmniTRACS mobile communications systems; support for the regional OmniExpress wireless system is expected later this year.
