Larry Springer, a linehaul driver for Central Freight Lines, has been named 2005 National Truck Driver of the Year by the American Trucking Assns. (ATA). The award is sponsored by Custard Insurance Adjusters.

In his 32 years on the road, Springer, who is based in Holland, TX, scored more than 4-million accident-free miles on the road. In 1994 he served as a captain of ATA’s “American Road Team.” Springer also served as ATA’s driver representative for the DOT “No-Zone” program.
