Chevron releases synthetic transmission fluids

Jul 28, 2006 1:22 PM

Chevron Products Co. is rolling out two new synthetic transmission fluids for heavy-duty trucks equipped with manual transmissions. Both meet the newly released Eaton-Fuller PS-164 Rev 7 specification.

Available as Chevron Delo Synthetic Transmission Fluid SAE 50 and Texaco Syn-Star TL SAE 50, these products meet and exceed performance requirements for extended drain and warranty, said Nicole Fujishige, the company’s commercial marketing manager.

“In addition, both fluids offer reduced component wear and potential fuel economy improvements to companies in the commercial transportation and construction markets,” she said. “That gives them the ability to improve our customers’ bottom line.”

The key attributes of the new transmission fluids are specially formulated high viscosity and low pour point synthetic lubricants that provide year-round performance under severe climate and operating conditions, noted Fujishige. During cold weather shifting, the all-season properties of the formulations lubricate transmission parts quickly, resulting in less gear wear and drag.
