Diesel price hikes end-- barely

The national average price for a gallon of diesel took a slight 0.2-cent dip for the week ending March. 12 to $2.543, according to the Energy Information Administration.

The largest decline was found in both the Lower Atlantic and the Midwest regions, which fell 0.9 cents to $2.507 and $2.491, respectively. The Midwest saw the lowest price that week. Not all regions enjoyed a price break, however. Prices in the New England region advanced the most, up 3.1 cents to $2.687. California was the most expensive region in which to fill up, after prices rose 0.8 cents to $2.747.
