Diesel up to $2.462

The national average price for a gallon of diesel ticked up 2.6 cents to $2.462 for the week ending Dec. 18, according to the Energy Information Administration.

All regions posted a price hike, but it was New England that saw the largest spike, as prices rose 4.9 cents to $2.647. That region has remained the most expensive region in which to fill up.

Prices were most stable in the West Coast region, rising only a half-cent to $2.505. The cheapest region in which to buy diesel is the Rocky Mountain at $2.41 after a 0.9-cent increase.
