Diesel prices harden

Dec 13, 2005 4:06 PM

The average price for a gallon of diesel increased 1.1 cents to $2.436 on the week ending Dec. 11, according to the Energy Information Administration. This ended a six-week trend of falling diesel prices.

Some regions posted a price reduction, most notably Rocky Mountain after a 7-cent decline to $2.401. Conversely, the Lower Atlantic region posted the largest increase at 3.9 cents to $2.393, yet retained its claim to being the cheapest region in which to buy diesel. New England is the most expensive region in which to buy diesel after a 0.7-cent increase to $2.598.
