Diesel up six cents to $2.551

The national average price for a gallon of diesel rose six cents to $2.551 for the week ending February 25, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Prices increased across all regions, but the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions tied for having the largest jump, up 7.9 cents to $2.523 and $2.497, respectively. Prices held the steadiest in the West Coast, up only 0.6 cents to $2.790.

The cheapest region in which to buy diesel was in the Lower Atlantic region at $2.483, in after a 6.2-cent jump.

California was once again the most expensive region in which to fill up at $2.911, in spite of a relatively modest one-cent rise.
