Victory in a Freightliner

Sep 23, 2005 3:04 PM

In this year's International Pikes Peak Hill Climb-the famous "Race to the Clouds"-- Mike Ryan piloted his Freightliner Century Class specially modified racer to the top of the 14,110-ft Colorado Rocky Mountain over a treacherous dirt track with a time of just 12:46.815.

That was quick enough to thoroughly beat out two competitors, allowing Ryan to again drive away with the trophy for the Big Rig class.

Ryan, along with racing trucks, is a veteran Hollywood stunt driver and coordinator. He also works to enhance truck driver safety awareness, particularly in regards to accident avoidance, and provides accident-reconstruction services.
