Highway Watch to get $4.8 million

The American Trucking Assns. will receive $4.8 million from the Dept. of Homeland Security to bolster the Highway Watch program. That money is part of a $400 million grant package to secure the nation’s critical infrastructure.

The Highway Watch program, managed by ATA, recruits and trains highway professionals to identify and report security and safety situations. To date, DHS has provided more than $45 million through its Trucking Security Program.
