Nitrogen tire inflator

Oct 6, 2005 12:08 PM

Parker Hannifin Corp. has introduced a generator for inflating tires with dry nitrogen gas rather than compressed air. The Parker TireSaver has a high-capacity output of 28 SCFM, making it appropriate for large fleets.

The floor standing unit includes an integral two-stage system of protective pre-filters and a carbon filter, which means it can be used on any compressed air system.

According to Parker Hannifin, “Dry nitrogen gas will extend tire life by up to 25% and will improve fuel efficiency by up to 4%.” The manufacturer also says that nitrogen results in “more consistent tire pressure and reduces or eliminates the need to check tire pressures and top off tires.”
