Port ID fee set at $137

Mar 21, 2007 2:02 PM

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has published a rule in the Federal Register setting the fee for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) at $137.25. Applicants who have already completed a comparable threat assessment will be eligible for a reduced fee of $105.25.

All workers requiring unescorted access to maritime facilities, including truckers, must carry a TWIC. The user fee covers the cost of enrollment, the security threat assessment, and the biometric ID card itself.
