Trucks to be banned from fast lane in Florida

Mar 23, 2005 2:42 PM

Trucks will be banned from the left lane of the Florida Turnpike in Miami-Dade County on a 27-mi. stretch between the Interstate 75 (Exit 39) and Caribbean Boulevard (Exit 12) interchanges in mid-April, according to Florida DOT.

Violators may be fined up to $115.50 and receive three points on their driver’s license. Enforcement of the rule will begin as early as the first week of May.

The rule is intended to reduce improper lane changes and roadrage from passenger vehicle drivers, FDOT said.
